Hydro Jetting

High-pressure sewer jetting – also known as “hydro jetting” – is an advanced method to clear a clogged plumbing system. Hydro jetting is ideal when other methods have failed to clear blockages or if pipes have become chronically slow, which can lead to more issues down the road.

How Does It Work?

The Equipment

Our hydro jetting equipment uses the latest technology to clear blockages by incorporating a large machine that pumps water from a tank through your plumbing system at high speeds. This high-velocity stream is shot through a long, heavy-duty hose outfitted with a specialized power nozzle. Measuring approximately 300 feet, this hose can handle just about any project.

Getting Setup

The jetting process begins with threading the nozzle and hose apparatus into a building’s pipes through the “cleanout” opening. If you aren’t sure where it’s located on your property’s plumbing system, don’t worry; we’ll find it. Most homes have been outfitted with at least one of these valves to clear blockages.

Utilizing the Force of Water

Now for the fun stuff. Once the hose and nozzle are in place, water is blasted through the piping system at a force of 3,500 – 4,000 PSI. That’s more than ten times the force of your local fire department’s hose.

The Hydro Jetting Advantage

Hydro jetting goes well beyond the typical drain-clearing machines used for typical blocks involving grease, hair, paper products, and other clogging culprits. If necessary, the high-powered stream can cut through things like sand, sediment, silt, and even tree roots. It doesn’t just remove the debris either – it will remove anything clinging to the inside of your pipes.

The benefit that hydro jetting has over other forms of clearing techniques, such as snakes, cables, and augers, is that nothing gets left behind. While the methods above are great for breaking through complete blockages, they aren’t nearly as effective at removing sediment coatings and mineral deposits that inevitably build up over time, resulting in suboptimal drain performance, even if there’s not a total block. Once you’ve completed the hydro jetting process, your pipes are as good as new!
